Objective: To analyze the relationship between disease awareness and adherence to prophylactic therapy in patients with hemophilia. Material and methods: A review of assessment tools and strategies addressing psychosocial, educational, and economic barriers to adherence was conducted. Results: Higher disease awareness was associated with improved adherence, reduced bleeding episodes, and better preservation of joint function.
